Total Recall is one of my all-time favorite movies. Do I have to mention I’m referring to the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger original? I hope not. It wasn’t just a funny action movie; it also had a great cast and a mind-fuck plot.
There are so many classic scenes and lines: The Johnny Cab ride; “Twooo weeks;” the hooker with three breasts; the cute little-person hooker; “Consider zat a divorce.” Those that own it on DVD are treated to perhaps the best commentary track of all time. And of course, who can forget Kuato? The genius leader of the resistance ends up being a deformed, conjoined sibling to one of the higher-ranking soldiers (who also played the General in Starship Troopers, another favorite that was also directed by Paul Verhoeven).
This shirt – purchased from TeePublic a short while ago – allows you to pretend you too have a little smart man living on your belly who tells people, “Start… the… reactor. Free Maaars.” I’m a big fan of shirts that make you a part of the art, which are actually pretty rare. I have a Hulk-themed TeeFury shirt I’m bound to share that I only just now discovered was from the same artist.
Thanks for checking out this week’s Cool Shirt Tuesday. And remember Kuato’s wise words: “You are what you do. A man is defined by his actions, not his memories.”
